Day 10: A Prayer for Peace in Aftercare Homes
“The Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.” – Numbers 6:26
Today I pray for peace over every Abolition International Shelter Association (A.I.S.A.) shelter. You provide peaceful dwelling places, secure homes, and undisturbed places of rest for your people (Is. 32:18). You, Jesus, are the Prince of Peace. You do not give as the world gives. You give peace! (Is. 9:6; Jn. 14:27) I pray for the hearts of the women and children in A.I.S.A. shelters, that they will not be troubled or afraid. (Jn 14:27) They are transitioning from a nightmare to a place of hope, yet fear of the unknown is so often a barrier to peace of mind. Through counsel and loving staff, teach them to fill their minds with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and praiseworthy. (Phil. 4:8-9) I praise your name for your peace transcends understanding and guards hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:7) I pray for residents to live in peace with each other, that they will be humble, gentle, and patient, bearing with one another in love. Teach them to make every effort to stay in the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace in their new home. (Eph. 4:2-4). In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
