Franciscan Sister Awarded for Her Anti-Human Trafficking Action

Sister Donna Jo Repetti, OSF, director of guidance at Benedictine Academy in Elizabeth, New Jersey, was awarded the prestigious honor of being named the ‘Franciscan Sister of the Year’ by the Franciscan Sisters of Philadelphia, for her work to help abolish Human Trafficking.

Sr. Donna Jo began her Human Trafficking ministry in 2006, along with students at Benedictine Academy, to educate others about the dangers of this modern day slavery and to work with government officials to protect victims from further injustices. The all-female Catholic college prep high school has won numerous awards, national state and local, for its work to bring awareness about the issue.
