Hitting Traffickers Where It Hurts

Human trafficking is a particularly heinous crime because it involves the direct profit off of the indignity suffered by human beings.
Asset forfeiture gives criminal justice professionals the opportunity to hit the traffickers where it will hurt them the most. It takes the profit out of the crime, and returns it to the individuals whose lives were most impacted – the victim as well as the jurisdiction whose resources supported the victim.
